Kaced Association:

"We Strongly Condemn the Attempted Coup and Remain Firmly Committed To Our Democracy"

On the night of July 15, Turkey survived a grave danger. We, as Kaced Association, believe in the principles of human rights, pluralist society and that political power should only be transferred through free and open popular elections, and will continue to do so.

We strongly condemn the attempted coup, and believe that what happened on the night of July 15 and the hours following are an opportunity to strengthen a democratic political system built on the fundamentals of human rights and pluralism.

The fact that all political parties and democratic institutions have condemned in unison the attempted coup constitutes an important opportunity. Therefore, starting from our leaders, we believe that we bear the responsibility, and have to undertake as a duty, to create a political system based on dialogue and the rule of law, bereft of political polarization and populism.

We believe that the perpetrators and their masterminds must be subjected to a thorough and serious investigation, information and evidence obtained must be openly shared with the public, and the legal process must be carried out based on the principles of the rule of law.

We hope that our country will quickly overcome the adverse repercussions of this anti-democratic intervention and extend our condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. To realize an open society, we wish an environment where everyone looks to the future with hope and reason.
